Blissal shower towel
"I think the Blissal shower towel may have just saved my marriage."
A product demo hidden inside a relationship story. Yanni found it, I was the sceptic. Three hook versions on request.
UGC creator / Brunswick, Melbourne
I'm Karla. Twenty-five years in television taught me how to find the interesting bit and when to stop talking. Now I make UGC for brands: story-led, funny when it should be, honest always.
People don't want to be sold to. They want to be entertained, surprised, or told about something that makes their week a bit better.
So that's what I make. Sometimes it's a shower towel saving a marriage. Sometimes it's my dog explaining a seat cover. There's always a point.

My Kylie Minogue doco take reached 6,170 people from an account with 55 followers.
The algorithm pushed it to strangers, which is the bit that matters when your brand is running my video on your account and your budget. Turns out people will happily watch a 49-year-old talk about Kylie. Who knew. (Me. I knew.)
Different brands, different audiences, different approaches. Hooks up front. Spec work is labelled as spec, because I'd rather you trust me.

Streaming commentary from someone who used to make television. The one that went further than it had any right to.

The Bear made me bawl.
Fast, opinionated TV talk. The format streaming and entertainment brands want for launches.

"I just hate getting my tootsies out for some reason."
Thirty years of hating summer shoes, solved in 44 seconds. Story-led product demo for an Australian footwear brand.

"I swim to the ducks. I never catch the ducks. Not the point."
A day in the life of Gilbert, told by Gilbert, deadpan. Merri Creek, the ducks and a muddy jump into the back seat.
07 / Concept and directionReal ad
Concept, casting and direction.
A 16-second ad for my own online store. Real people, real homes, one problem: the clothes horse that eats your floor. Square, to brief.
What it does, why it matters and how it fits into an actual life. Minus the sales pitch.
Fashion, skincare, food, home, candles and the small things that make life better.
Sounds like a recommendation from a friend, because that's how I talk.
Got a product but no angle? I'll find one, cast it and shoot it.
Sometimes two people make a better story. See below.
About
I've spent most of my working life behind the camera, helping other people tell their stories. These days I'm enjoying being in front of it. I'm interested in people: what makes them tick, what makes them laugh, and why they choose one thing over another.
I won't tell you every product is life-changing. I'd rather find something genuinely useful, clever or fun and tell you why. And yes, occasionally I make a complete goose of myself on camera. All in the name of good content.
The name's a clue. I wonder about everything, I try it, then I tell you straight.
i.
Twenty-five years in television: finding stories, interviewing people, casting and producing, including Australia's first mobile TV series. I know the value of a strong opening, an unexpected angle and getting to the point.
ii.
A marketing and PR background, and a business I run on GoHighLevel, Hnry and more apps than I'd like to admit. Who's watching, what matters to them, what should they do next? The creative needs to work for your brand, not just look clever in my portfolio.
iii.
I'm 49, menopausal, drive an electric Kia and share a small eco apartment in Brunswick with a furniture maker and a creek-mad dog. I can be polished when the brief calls for it. But relatable beats perfect most days.
Who listens / Women 35 to 55. Smart, busy, values-driven and allergic to rubbish.
Couple content
Sometimes two people make a better story. Yanni is a furniture maker who goes down rabbit holes finding products. I'm the sceptic. Gilbert supervises.
For briefs that need a couple, a bit of back-and-forth, or a man over 50 who knows his tools: workshop and trade gear, furniture and interiors, food and road trips.
Quoted for two people.

What I say no to
Gambling. Fast fashion that costs the planet. Supplements without real evidence.
If your product doesn't fit my values, I'm the wrong creator and I'll tell you so. That's why my yes means something. Health products: personal experience only, using your approved Australian claims.
Over to you
Got a full brief or just the start of an idea? Send it over. Bring your brand. I'll bring the curiosity, the story, and a straight answer on whether I'm the right fit.
